Sending rules

Rules that apply to every recovery campaign: how often one customer can be emailed, when emails may go out, and who never gets them.

ProSiteryn → Abandoned Cart → Sending Rules
  • Frequency Limit: Emails per Address and Period (days)
  • Send Window: Quiet Hours, Send From / Send Until and Sending Days
  • Unsubscribed card in the sidebar with Find an address

Frequency limit

Across all campaigns, an address gets at most this many recovery emails in the period. Emails over the limit wait (checked every 6 hours) until the address is below it again.

Emails per Address
Default 3Range 1–20

The most campaign emails one address can get in the period.

Period (days)
Default 7Range 1–30

The rolling window the limit applies to.

The Free plugin's Recovery Email → One Email per Address Every (24 hours by default) also applies to campaign emails: if the address got a recovery email for another cart in that time, the campaign email waits until the interval has passed. Emails of the same cart's sequence are not held back by it.

Send window

Campaign emails go out only in these hours and on these days, in your site's timezone (shown on the tab). An email that falls due outside them waits for the next allowed time, and the cart's timeline shows "Campaign email postponed".

Quiet Hours
Default Off

Only send between the times below.

Send From · Send Until
Default 09:00–20:00

In 30-minute steps. An earlier "Send Until" than "Send From" runs overnight, for example 21:00 until 07:00 the next morning. Equal times mean the whole day.

Sending Days
Default Every day

The days a send window can start on. With none ticked, every day is allowed. Days apply even when Quiet Hours is off, so you can, for example, skip Sundays without setting hours.

The send window applies to campaign emails only. The Free plugin's single Recovery Email, previews and test sends are not held back. Daylight saving time is handled automatically: 09:00 stays 09:00 local time.

Unsubscribed

Every recovery email, Free or campaign, carries an unsubscribe link and a one-click unsubscribe header that mail apps show as an "Unsubscribe" button. Unsubscribed addresses never get another cart reminder: they never join a campaign, and a campaign already running for them ends at once, without retries.

The Unsubscribed card in the sidebar manages that list:

The list itself belongs to the Free plugin and keeps working without a Pro license. See Unsubscribe.
