Personalization
"Recently viewed" and "Recommended for you" lists from what each shopper browsed. Privacy-first: the history lives only in the shopper's browser.
- Merchandising tab with the Personalization sub-tab open
- Browsing-Based Recommendations card: Enable Personalization, Show "Recently Viewed" on Product Pages, the two headings and Heading Alignment
Settings
| Setting | Default |

| Enable Personalization | On |
| Show "Recently Viewed" on Product Pages | On |
| "For You" Heading | Recommended for you |
| "Recently Viewed" Heading | Recently viewed |
| Heading Alignment | Center |
How it works
- Each product a shopper views is remembered in their own browser (localStorage, up to 12 products, no cookies).
- Recently viewed appears on product pages after related products, excluding the current product, with the same number of products as the product page list.
- Recommended for you combines recommendations for the shopper's last 5 viewed products, leaving out ones they've seen. It uses existing rankings and rules.
- The lists load just after the page, so pages stay cacheable. First-time visitors see nothing.
- Shoppers with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled are never tracked and get no personal lists.

Or use the AI Recommendations (Pro) block or page builder widget with "Recommended for you" or "Recently viewed". Personal lists are always a grid.
Nothing personal is stored on your site, but the browser keeps a list of viewed product IDs. Mention it in your privacy or cookie policy; the plugin's suggested privacy text doesn't cover it.
