Troubleshooting
Solutions for the most common issues. System Status shows your engine, provider and AI usage at a glance.
No recommendations on product pages
- Check Enable Recommendations (General) and Show on Product Pages (Placements).
- Your store needs other published, visible, purchasable products. External products and products without a price are never recommended; out-of-stock ones are hidden by default.
- Page builders replacing the product template may skip WooCommerce's hooks: add the shortcode or block.
- Clear your page cache.
Two similar lists on product pages
Turn on Replace WooCommerce Related Products (Placements).
Recommendations aren't relevant
- Set up-sells and cross-sells on key products (Product data → Linked Products); they rank highest.
- Use accurate categories and tags.
- Connect an AI provider and keep the engine on AI + Rules.
- With Pro, use pins, exclusions and boosts.
AI picks never appear
- The engine must be AI + Rules and the provider connected (Test Connection).
- Rankings are created in the background the first time a product's list is shown. WP-Cron or Action Scheduler must run: check Tools → Scheduled Actions for
siteryn_ai_product_recommendations_generate_ranking. - With Require My Approval, approve them in the product editor.
- Only published products are ranked, never a product with Exclude this product from AI ranking ticked, and a product needs at least 2 other recommendable products ("There are not enough other products to rank yet.").
- The daily limit or the fixed 60-per-hour limit may be reached (System Status → AI Requests Today).
- Use Generate now on one product to see any error.
Provider messages
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| No AI provider is configured yet. Add your provider and API key under Siteryn → AI Recommendations → AI Connector. | Choose a provider, save its key and a model on the AI tab (Provider sub-tab) |
| The AI provider rejected the API key. | Create a new key and save it again |
| Your AI provider account has no remaining quota or credit. | Add billing or credit with your provider |
| The request limit set in this plugin's settings has been reached. | Wait for the hourly or daily reset (UTC), or raise the daily limit |
| The AI provider took too long to respond. | Try again, or raise Request Timeout (Limits & Usage) |
| The AI provider is rate-limiting requests. | Wait a moment and try again |
| The selected model is not available for this API key. | Refresh models and choose another |
| The AI provider returned a response that could not be used. | Try again; for reasoning models raise Max Response Tokens |
| The provider endpoint uses a port WordPress blocks… | Use port 443, 80 or 8080 for custom endpoints |
| The provider endpoint must use HTTPS. | Enter an https:// Endpoint Base URL |
| The endpoint URL changed since the API key was saved… | Save the API key again for the new endpoint |
| Recommendations for this product are already being generated. | Wait for the running request to finish |
When a key "can no longer be decrypted", your site's security keys changed: paste the key again.
Add to cart opens the product page
Turn on Enable AJAX add to cart buttons on archives (WooCommerce → Settings → Products). Variable products always open the product page to choose options.
Changes don't appear
Lists are cached for up to an hour. Saving settings refreshes them; Pro's merchandising settings can take up to an hour. Also clear your page cache.
No list in the cart or checkout Pro
Check the license, Show on the Cart Page / Show on Checkout, and that the cart has products. Checkout lists are off by default.
No list on the Shop page Pro
Category lists appear on product category and tag pages, not the main Shop page.
Small cards look unstyled inside the summary Pro
With Personalization turned off, the styles for "Inside the summary" lists may not load in 1.0.0. Keep Personalization on, or use another position.
No frequently bought together bundle Pro
Products need at least Minimum Orders Together shared orders in the last 180 days. Check the Purchase History Index status and click Rebuild now.
No "Recently viewed" or "For you" Pro
They need a browsing history in that browser, and don't show for visitors with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control on.
Still stuck?
Contact Siteryn support with a screenshot of System Status (blur the database name and IP), the page address and the steps to reproduce. Never share your API key.
