Saved designs & revisions
Keep up to 20 designs per page, go back to any of the last 15 published versions, and move designs between sites as files.
- "Checkout designs" dialog: Saved designs, Revisions and Import / export tabs
- "Save the current design" with a name field and Save design
- The empty state before any design is saved
Click Designs in the builder's top bar to open the "… designs" dialog (for example "Checkout designs"). It has three tabs: Saved designs, Revisions and Import / export. Saved designs and revisions belong to one page type, so Cart, Checkout and Thank You each have their own.
Saved designs
- Save the current design
Type a name (for example "Holiday checkout", up to 80 characters) and click Save design. It saves what's in the editor now, including unsaved changes. Your live page doesn't change.
- Load it later
Click Load ("… loaded. Save or publish to use it."). If the editor has unsaved changes, you're asked "Replace your unsaved changes?" first, and you can undo the load afterwards.
Each saved design shows when it was updated and has Preview, Duplicate (creates "… (copy)"), Rename, Export and Delete. You can keep up to 20 designs per page; once full, Save design is disabled until you delete one. A design that has problems can't be saved ("Fix the highlighted problems first, then save the design."), and a design over 512 KB is "too large to save".
Revisions
Every time you publish, the published version is kept as a revision, up to 15 per page, newest first. Publishing the same design twice in a row keeps only one. Each revision shows the date, "Published by …", and a Live badge on the current one.
- Preview opens the revision without changing anything.
- Restore loads it into the editor: "Revision from … loaded. Publish to make it live."
Export and import
- Export on a saved design, or Export current design on the Import / export tab (the design in the editor now), downloads a JSON file, for example
siteryn-checkout-holiday-checkout.jsonorsiteryn-checkout-current-design.json, to back it up or move it to another store. - Import takes a
.jsonfile of up to 512 KB, exported from the same page type. It loads into the editor ("… imported. Save or publish to use it."); nothing goes live until you publish.
| Message | Meaning |

| This file is not a Siteryn Checkout design export. | Choose a file exported from the Designs dialog. |
| This design was made for the Cart page… | Open that page in the builder and import it there. |
| This design can't be used here: … | The design fails validation on this site, for example it uses an element from a plugin that isn't active. |
| That file is too large. Design files are at most 512 KB. | Choose a smaller export. |
| That file could not be read. | The browser couldn't open the file. Choose it again. |
