How it works
What happens between clicking Generate and seeing a suggestion, and what keeps it accurate, private and affordable.
From click to suggestion
- You click Generate (or Rewrite current) for one content type on one product.
- The product data you allow on the Privacy tab is collected, including unsaved edits to the name and descriptions.
- A prompt is built with your length and format settings, and sent to your provider from your server.
- The answer is checked: allowed HTML only, titles and excerpts cut to their character limit, and no more tags or attributes than your Content settings allow.
- You review it in the panel, edit it, and click Use (Save to product for attributes), or Discard.
Nothing is saved to the product until you click Use (and, for text fields, Update). A second click while a request is still running gets "This content is already being generated. Please wait for it to finish." instead of a second paid request.
Accurate copy
Every request tells the AI to use only facts from the product data, and never invent specifications, prices, stock, shipping or guarantees. Product data is treated as data, never as instructions. Always review the result: AI can still make mistakes.
What is sent
- Always the product name.
- The fields you allow on the Privacy tab: type, categories, tags, attributes, existing descriptions, and optionally SKU and price.
- For Rewrite current, the text being rewritten.
- Never customer, order or payment data.
Costs, caching & limits
- Your provider bills your own account per request. The plugin adds no charge.
- An identical request within the Response Cache time (60 minutes) reuses the previous answer for free, so clicking Generate again gives the same suggestion. Change the product details or any setting to get a new one.
- Request limits per user per hour and per day protect your budget. They reset on the UTC clock, and failed requests count too.
- System Status shows requests, cache hits, errors and tokens for the last 7 days.
Language
Content is written in your site language. With WPML or Polylang, it's written in the product's own language. Pro can write in 35 languages.
Your API key
- Keys are encrypted on your server and never shown again or sent to the browser.
- Each provider keeps its own key, so you can switch providers without re-entering them.
- If your site's security keys (salts) change, saved keys can no longer be read and must be entered again.
- Developers can define keys in
wp-config.phpinstead; see Developer guide.
Editor support
The AI Product Content panel is a standard meta box on the classic product edit screen. WooCommerce's new block-based product editor isn't supported. One product and one content type per click; variations aren't covered in Free.
