Generating content
The AI Product Content panel on the product edit screen: generate or rewrite, review, then use.
- The AI Product Content panel on the product edit screen
- Here before a provider is set up: the notice with "Set up your AI provider"
- A section per content type with Generate and Rewrite current (Generate only for tags and attributes)
The panel
- The AI Product Content panel sits near the top of the classic product edit screen for anyone who can edit products, while Enable AI Content Tools is on and at least one content type is ticked.
- The top line shows the provider and model in use.
- Without a working provider, the panel shows why (for example "No AI provider is configured yet…") and the buttons are disabled. Store managers get a Set up your AI provider button; other users see "Ask a store manager to configure an AI provider."
Content types
| Type | Buttons | Produces |
|---|---|---|
| Product title | Generate, Rewrite current | A clear, specific name within the character limit; no promotional words, emoji or ALL CAPS |
| Short description | Generate, Rewrite current | The summary next to the product image: a sentence plus 3–5 bullets (rich format) |
| Long description | Generate, Rewrite current | The full description, with paragraphs, subheadings, lists and emphasis (rich format) |
| Product excerpt | Generate, Rewrite current | A one- or two-sentence plain-text summary for listings, feeds and AI shopping tools |
| Product tags | Generate | Suggested tags to help shoppers find the product |
| Product attributes | Generate | Suggested attributes such as material, size or color, without repeating existing ones |
Rewrite current improves what's already in the field, including unsaved edits; with an empty field you get "There is no existing content to rewrite yet. Write something first, or use Generate." Which types show is set on the General tab; lengths and formatting on the Content tab.
Reviewing a suggestion
- Generate
"Generating..." then "Suggestion ready. Review and edit it, then click Use."
- Edit
Text appears in an editable box; short and long descriptions also show a live preview.
- Use or Discard
Use puts the text into the product's field (title, short description, description or the excerpt field): "Inserted into the editor. Click Update to save the product." Discard throws it away: "Suggestion discarded."
Tags and attributes
- Suggestions appear as checkboxes, all ticked. Untick the ones you don't want; with none ticked you get "Select at least one suggestion first."
- Tags: Use adds them to the Product tags box: "Tags added to the Product tags box. Click Update to save the product." If that box isn't on the screen, they're saved to the product straight away. Creating a tag that doesn't exist yet needs permission to manage product terms; tags you can't create are skipped.
- Attributes: Save to product asks "This saves the selected attributes to the product now and reloads the page. Unsaved changes on this screen will be lost. Continue?", then saves them as custom attributes (visible, not used for variations) and reloads the page. Save your other edits first. Attributes the product already has are skipped ("Skipped (already on the product): …").
The product excerpt
The excerpt is saved in its own field, Product excerpt (plain text), inside the panel (shown while the Product excerpt type is enabled), when you click Update. It's separate from WooCommerce's short description. Your theme can print it with siteryn_ai_product_content_get_excerpt().
