Quick start
From an API key to your first AI-written product description.
1. Get an API key
Create a key with your AI provider, for example OpenAI or Anthropic, and add billing or credit to that account. The AI Connector tab shows a step-by-step guide with links for each provider.
2. Connect it
- Choose a provider
AI Product Content → AI Connector → pick the provider card.
- Save the key
Paste it into API Key and click Save Key. It's encrypted and never shown again, and the model list loads the models your key can use.
- Choose a model and test
Keep Provider default or choose a model, click Save Changes, then Test Connection: "Connected to OpenAI using gpt-4.1-mini."

3. Check what's sent
Privacy: by default the product name, type, categories, tags, attributes and existing descriptions are sent. SKU and price are off. Untick anything you don't want shared.
4. Generate
- Open a product
Give it a name and, ideally, a category and attributes: the AI only uses facts you provide.
- Click Generate
Under Long description in the AI Product Content panel. The suggestion appears in an editable box with a preview.
- Review, edit and use
Edit the text if needed, click Use, then Update to save the product.
5. Tune it
Content: set the title length, description word counts and formatting. AI Connector: Creativity and request limits.
