Display conditions

Show or hide any section, row, column or element based on who is shopping and what's in their cart. Cart and checkout rules update live, without a page reload.

Lists are comma-separated and take up to 50 entries. Payment method uses the chosen gateway, or the first available one before the shopper picks. On the Thank You page, rules use the order being viewed instead of the cart.

Cart rules hide an element on the page, so don't use them to keep something secret (like a coupon code).

How rules combine

Live updates

On the Cart and Checkout pages, items with cart-based rules (quantity, subtotal, products, categories, coupons, country, shipping, payment) update as the shopper changes the cart, the address, the shipping method or the payment method. Form fields inside a hidden item are disabled, so they are never submitted. Shopper and role rules are decided when the page loads.

Conditions keep applying if your license lapses; you just can't edit them until you reactivate. See If a license lapses.

Ideas

Free-shipping nudge

Show Free Shipping Progress only when Subtotal at most 49.

Wholesale note

Show a Text element only for the role wholesale.

Bank transfer reminder

Show a note when Payment method is bacs.

Pickup instructions

Show directions when Shipping method is local_pickup.

Protected elements

Items that contain a required element (for example Cart Items, Billing Address, Payment Methods, Terms & Privacy or Place Order) can't carry conditions, because the page needs them. You'll see: Display conditions can't hide "…": the page needs it. Put the condition on another element.
