Requirements
| Software | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Siteryn Checkout (Free) | 1.0.0 or later, active |
| WooCommerce | 8.0 (tested up to 11.2) |
| WordPress · PHP | 6.4 · 7.4 |
Pro shows a clear notice when something is missing, for example "Siteryn Checkout Pro is almost ready" with an Install Siteryn Checkout or Activate Siteryn Checkout button. Its features stay hidden until the requirement is met.
Activating your license
- Install Pro next to Free
Upload the Pro zip under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and activate it. Keep the Free plugin active.
- Open the License tab
Siteryn → Checkout → License ("Activation & status"). The Pro row on the Plugins screen also has a Settings link.
- Paste your key and click Activate
You'll see "License activated." and the status Active, or Active (Lifetime). A yearly license also shows "Renews/expires" with its date. Once active, the key is shown masked (first and last four characters).
- "Pro License" card, status Active
- Masked key and the Deactivate button
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| That license key is not valid. | Copy the key again from your siteryn.com account. |
| That license key is for a different product. | Use the key for Multi-Step & One-Click Checkout Pro. |
| Could not reach the license server. Please try again. | Your server couldn't connect to siteryn.com over HTTPS. Try again, or ask your host. |
| Please enter a license key. | The field is empty and no key is saved yet. |
| Activation failed. Please try again. | Any other refusal from the license server. Try again, or contact Siteryn support. |
| Your session has expired. Please reload the page and try again. | The License tab was left open too long. Reload it. |
To move Pro to another site, click Deactivate first ("License deactivated."). If the server can't confirm it, you'll see "The license server could not confirm the deactivation. Check your connection and try again." and nothing changes. The key stays saved: the field then shows "Saved key … (leave empty to re-activate it)", so clicking Activate with the field empty reactivates it.
License statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active · Active (Lifetime) | Pro is unlocked on this site. |
| Expired | The license wasn't renewed. Renew it in your siteryn.com account. |
| Revoked · Cancelled | The license was refunded or cancelled. |
| Not Activated on This Site | The key is valid but this site isn't activated. Click Activate. |
| Inactive | No key yet, or the status is unknown. |
The same status appears as the Pro License card (Active or Inactive) on System Status, next to the Pro Version card.
How the license is checked
- Checks run from wp-admin, WP-CLI and a daily background task, never on your storefront. The result is cached for 12 hours.
- If siteryn.com can't be reached, Pro keeps working for a 14-day grace period. A known expiry date that has passed switches Pro off right away, even before the next check.
- Only your license key, the site URL and the product ID are sent (plus the installed version when checking for updates).
- Pro updates arrive through the normal WordPress updater while the license is active.
Without an active license
Pro's builder features (Pro elements, display condition settings, extra limits, Pro layouts and modes, copy and paste, step options, the Designs and Checkout fields dialogs) don't appear in the editor, and the Pro settings don't take effect. You can still browse the Pro groups in the One-Click Checkout tab, which carry a Pro badge: "You can explore every Pro setting at any time. Activate your license to save a Pro-only change and unlock it on your live store."
If a license lapses
| What | While the license is inactive |
|---|---|
| Free plugin | Keeps working exactly as before. It is never trialware. |
| Published designs | Keep rendering, even if they exceed Free's limits. |
| Pro elements | Stay stored in your design but render nothing until you reactivate. |
| Pro layout modes | A design using one (for example Split or Sidebar) is kept and renders as one page until you reactivate. |
| Pro styling | Advanced styling, extra design controls, values per device, custom CSS, step progress styles and Back / Continue button designs stop applying; your settings are kept. |
| Display conditions | Keep applying, and their badges stay in the editor. You can't change the rules until you reactivate. |
| Saved designs and revisions | Kept, but the Designs dialog is unavailable and new publishes aren't added as revisions. |
| Field manager | Field changes and custom fields stop applying; definitions are kept. Answers on past orders stay. |
| One-Click Pro, Reorder, order-bump discounts | Stop until you reactivate. |
| Your data | Nothing is deleted. |
Deactivating and deleting Pro
- Deactivate: stops the daily license check. Everything is kept.
- Delete: removes Pro's license data, saved designs, revisions and field manager definitions. Your published designs (owned by Free), Free's settings and the answers already saved on orders are kept.
