Field manager

Rename, reorder and resize WooCommerce's own checkout fields, show, hide or require the optional ones, and add custom fields whose answers follow the order everywhere.

ProBuilder (Checkout page) → Checkout fields
  • "Checkout fields" dialog: Billing, Shipping, Additional and Custom fields tabs
  • Each field with its label, placeholder, width, Show and Required
  • Save fields and Close at the top

Open the Checkout page in the builder and click Checkout fields. The fields apply to every Checkout design, and saved changes go live straight away, so you don't need to publish. Tabs: Billing, Shipping, Additional and Custom fields. Click Save fields when done ("Checkout fields saved. They apply to your live checkout now."). Closing with unsaved changes asks "Close without saving?" first.

Each field row has:

Label · Placeholder

Override the text. The original shows as a hint.

Width

Default, Full width, Half (left) or Half (right).

Move up / Move down

Change the order. Your custom fields appear in their section's tab too, with a Custom badge, so you can place them between WooCommerce's fields.

Show · Required

Available for the optional fields only: company, address line 2 and phone (billing and shipping), and order notes (show only).

"WooCommerce needs this field to create the order, so it always shows and its required setting can't change." This applies to name, address, email and the other core fields. For some countries, WooCommerce still arranges address fields its own way regardless of your order and widths.

Custom fields

Ask shoppers for anything else, such as a delivery date, a gift message or a VAT number. Click Add field on the Custom fields tab; you can add up to 30.

Where answers appear

A field's internal ID is created from its label when first saved and never changes, so renaming a field later keeps its past answers. Removing a field ("Remove this field?") hides it from shoppers after you save; orders already placed keep their answers. Labels, placeholders and choices can be translated with WPML or Polylang ("Siteryn Checkout Pro" context).
