Email customers when a wishlisted item drops in price
Alerts go to logged-in customers, for items saved to their account. Logged-in sync saves their main wishlist there. With only Multiple wishlists on, just the items copied into a named list are watched. Guest wishlists live only in the browser, so guests don't get alerts.
Back in stock
- Watches items that were out of stock when they were added to the wishlist.
- When the product's stock status changes to In stock, every watching customer gets one email, then the watch ends. Removing the item from the list ends it too.
- "On backorder" doesn't count as back in stock.
Subject: Linen Shirt is back in stock Good news -- an item on your wishlist is back in stock: Linen Shirt https://your-store.com/product/linen-shirt/
Price drop
- The price when the item was added (the sale price, if on sale) is the starting point.
- Any drop below it sends an email, then the lower price becomes the new starting point, so the next email needs a further drop.
- Works for price edits and for scheduled sales starting. Variable products' price changes may not be detected.
Subject: Price drop: Linen Shirt An item on your wishlist just dropped in price: Linen Shirt (was $49.00, now $39.00) https://your-store.com/product/linen-shirt/
How emails are sent
- Plain text, in the customer's language, sent through WordPress (
wp_mail) shortly after the change by a background task, so WP-Cron must run on your site. - They don't use WooCommerce's email settings or template; your SMTP plugin's sender applies.
- There is no unsubscribe link: customers stop alerts by removing the item. Mention alerts in your privacy policy.
- Developers can change the subject and text with the
